Venerable Chao Khun Phra TepSiddhivides


Biography

Venerable Chao Khun Phra TepSiddhivides is currently the Abbot of Wat Ananda Metyarama-Thai Buddhist Temple Singapore. He was born on the 14th May 1929, at Songkhla province of Thailand. He received ordination as a novice monk at the age of 12, and received full ordination at 19.

 

In 1973, Venerable Chao Khun Phra Tep Siddhivides was appointed as the Abbot of Wat Ananda Metyarama. Under his tenure, the temple has gone through several phases of renovations, and subsequently, extension of a new building. Now, the temple has become a focal point for both locals and foreigners, to learn and practice Buddhism, Thai Culture and Arts.

 

Greatly revered for his ceaseless efforts to promote Buddhism, Venerable Chao Khun has been teaching the Dhamma, giving counsel and comfort to devotees and others. Venerable Chao Khun Phra Tepsiddhivides has also represented as one of the Buddhist religious leaders involved in the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO), an organisation that promotes religious understanding and harmony in Singapore.
