What is Seven Celestial Stars?
Seven Celestial Stars is an ancient Chinese astronomical concept that combines seven different star groups to represent different positions in the sky. The Seven Constellations are: Sun, Lunar Moon, Taibai, Year Star, Chen Star, Yinghuo, Filling Star / Neutralizing Star.
The Seven Celestial Stars are different from the week. The week is usually named after the Seven Celestial Stars, i.e. Sunday (Sun), Monday (Moon), Tuesday (Mars), Wednesday (Mercury), Thursday (Jupiter), Friday (Venus), Saturday (Saturn). However, Seven Celestial Stars is a system based on seven celestial bodies, and the corresponding Seven Celestial Stars are as follows:
- The Sun (Sun): corresponds to happiness, vitality, creativity, and Sunday.
- The Moon (Lunar Moon): corresponds to intuition, unity, a sense of oneness, and Monday.
- The Metal (Taibai): corresponds to insight, creativity, wisdom, and Friday.
- The Wood (Year Star): corresponds to love, healing, relationships, and Thursday.
- The Water (Chen Star): corresponds to communication, self-expression, and Wednesday.
- The Fire (Yinghuo): corresponds to willpower, confidence, self-awareness, and Tuesday.
- The Earth (Filling Star, Neutralizing Star): corresponds to survival, security, stability, and Saturday.
This correspondence was very important in ancient Chinese astrology and the lunar calendar, and it was believed that each position had different properties and influences.
