3SP @ Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is part of the Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (Peers) Network running shelters for the homeless, which are called Safe, Sound Sleeping Places(S3Ps). We collaborated with MSF on setting up the S3P@Buddha Tooth Relic Temple as there is a need for short-term accommodation for rough sleepers. There is also a need for S3Ps to be near hotspots where rough sleepers gather.
The Kreta Ayer district, where Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is located, happens to be a location where a significant number of rough sleepers tend to gather. Therefore, we started with our S3P@Buddha Tooth Relic Temple project in June 2019 to provide short-term accommodation for rough sleepers in our Basement One level from 10PM to 6AM.
We hope that by providing accommodation and assistance to those who are less fortunate, we will be able to make a positive impact on their lives and our community.
